Wednesday Jazz; Pent Up House by Sonny Rollins

A little frantic, a little calm, this jazz piece is from Sonny Rollins. A tenor saxophonist since age 11, Rollins recorded and jammed with many jazz giants. Appearing on his album Sonny Rollins 4 in late 1950s, Pent Up House is still played widely in jam sessions.

83 and counting, Sonny Rollins still says that the “celestial picture” should not be infringed upon by “that day-to-day crap you have to put up with on this misbegotten planet.”
